Aquarium Lighting – Metal Halide – Saltwater Reef – effects and precautions?

I have a reef, 24 gallon saltwater tank, and I just receiving mail my new 250 watt metal halide system (15,000 k). Before, I have been using a 120 watt compact fluorescent. My question is what special precautions should I be aware of how to install this new system: – Heat? – The penetration of UV rays to make the health of fish? – Dangerous effects of light in people (the light hanging from the ceiling and be in a living room)? – Some other concerns? Thank you.

What is the best Fishfinder / GPS combo …?

I currently own a Lowrance X-91 and I bought 4 years ago for $ 400.oo. I have had more that problems with it. The first time I sent it back to update the software … yet to be found below. I sent it back and sent me a new unit. Yet did the same thing that sent me a new transducer worked … fishing trips for about 2 … now appears on the screen only half … I called Lowrance and do service more units and said it would be cheaper to buy a new one. So … more … Lowrance is there a better combination of GPS locator and a company who are behind this?

I like Lowrance GPS / Fish Finders. I have a X-135 and never had a problem with it. My brother is an Eagle – 450 DF SeaCharter. Is a ton cheaper and swears by it. Therefore, if you want to save some money, I would suggest the Eagle. Are still made by Lowrance, however. Happy fishing and good lucky

A pontoon boat can be a great way to spend an afternoon fishing for the favorite species of fish. There are many reasons that a pontoon boat is ideal for fishing, but the number one reason has to be comfort. In this article I will discuss some of the features and benefits of a pontoon style boat that you never have considered. I'll talk inflatable pontoon boats, inflatable pontoon that is, and outline some of the reasons for this style is perfect pontoon boat for fishing.

The biggest reason why this type of pontoon boat is ideal for fishing is due to cost. Traditional pontoon, while being great for fishing, are very expensive. Many fishermen simply do not have enough disposable income to afford a traditional pontoon boat, so that an inflatable version is a cost effective alternative. As a matter of fact inflatable pontoons cost thousands less than their traditional cousins.

There are two versions of the fishing boats inflatable pontoon available to fishermen. The first is the floating pontoon tube and the second is the FoldCat pontoon style. Both style inflatable boats are great for fishing, with the biggest difference is the number of fishermen that the two styles fit comfortably. The pontoon style float tube are mainly by a fisherman while the pontoon style comfortable FoldCat can take up to three fishermen.

You see the floating pontoon style tube consist of two inflatable pontoons with a seat in the middle to keep the fisherman. The feet of the fishermen sit in the water in most cases and the boat is powered by a pair of oars. This style of pontoon fishing boat is very popular with fly fishermen in both lakes and rivers. These boats cost between two and six hundred dollars, depending on the features you want. Fishing for these boats is very easy and they are also very maneuverable.

Pontoons FoldCat style are a little bigger than his style float tube cousins and obviously also consists of a pair of pontoons with the biggest difference is that these boats have a platform located on the top of the pontoons so that the fisherman fishermen (or) are above the water. This makes these boats easier and more convenient for fish that the type of floating pontoon style. In the case of a pontoon fishing boat this boat is by far the most comfortable for the fish. The FoldCat is powered by a pair of oars, or even can be powered by a small engine if you prefer. This style is best suited for fishing in lakes, but can be used in large rivers as well.

Any of these styles of fishing pontoon boat is excellent fishing and, as I said, the cost of a faction of traditional boats that cost. As a general rule, the style is best served pontoon for fishing, while the style is best served FoldCat to traditional fishing as fishing for bass. Both styles are easy to fish and maneuver through the water.
