California may be one of the best fishing spots around the country, because you can experience everything from the trophy-sized fish in the ocean Pacific could Backwoods freshwater fishing in some of the most pristine mountain lakes in the country. Add in all streams, creeks and rivers across the state of California and the fishing has something for everyone.
What do you need to fish in California?
 • Fishing gear for salt or freshwater fishing.

Where can obtain a fishing license in California?
 • You can obtain a license at the California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG).

While it seems that there is a lot of fishing regulations in California, they help regulate how many fish are taken each year and maintaining abundant fish statewide. Fees for licenses and stamps vary, so it is best to consult with CDFG if you have any questions about your fishing needs and their needs.
If you are an avid fisherman, you should think about the annual fishing licenses in California. It is much cheaper to buy an annual license several days of numerous permits and you do not will have to continue paying coupons for improvement either. California even offers lifetime fishing licenses, which are even more reasonable if you plan on fishing for several years in the Golden State.
